How long have you been working for iCashCars?

I’ve been there right from the very first moment Kieron started talking about iCashCars.  He’s definitely the brains behind it all, coming up with the idea and developing the concept; but as they say, behind every great man is an even greater woman.  That’s me!

What’s your career background?

Absolutely nothing to do with cars!  I used to be a paediatric nurse, before moving in to palliative care.  After our daughter was born, I wanted to take a step back from the long hours of nursing and do something completely different.  Cars definitely ticked that box!

What’s the best part of your job?

I really enjoy the negotiating elements that come with my job – the back and forth between our trusted traders and the seller.  There’s a huge buzz that comes from being able to close what seemed to be an impossible deal – with both seller and trader walking away happy.  You can’t bottle that feeling.

Equally, I love being able to see what started off as an idea in our kitchen turn in to a business that’s really working.  The pandemic has had a huge impact on the car industry as a whole, and seeing traders embrace our concept, and discover it really does work for them, especially in the Covid-era, is really wonderful.

What was your first car?

A black Mitsubishi Pajero – oh, I was such a diva!

How many times did it take for you to pass your driving test?

I first took the test when I was 17 and told everyone I’d passed.  I didn’t actually come clean until I’d passed it the second time around!

What’s your favourite driving tune?

This should be a really easy question to answer, but I’m a Mum.  Which basically means I’ve not had control of my car stereo for the last 22 years.  I could tell you what everyone else in my family’s favourite tune is – but I’m not allowed to pick music!

What’s your dream car?

Now, this question I can answer straight away: Lamborghini Urus. I’m not fussy, give it to me in any colour except red.  I really am not a fan of red cars!

What’s the longest road trip you’ve ever done?

A few years ago we did London to Spain, which was over 700 miles.  As if that wasn’t enough of a challenge, we had a six week old baby with us at the time, too!

Bright side though, it gave us plenty of excuses to stop frequently, which meant we stretched our legs in Paris, Madrid and Barcelona to name a few places.  Would I do it again?  No.

Even without the baby?  No way.  I definitely prefer the more direct route – with cheese and wine – rather than the bumpy one with service stations!
